PRODUCTS
Yes. All Polygiene treatments have undergone extensive sensitivity testing and are completely safe – even when used for long periods. Polygiene StayFresh™ is only active in the material so it doesn't interfere with any natural bacteria on the skin.
The Technology we use in all our products is called Stay Fresh and provided by Polygiene®. It is made from silver salts (specifically silver chloride), it’s washed into your clothes like a dye. Because of the chemical structure of the molecules, you need very little silver chloride to treat the whole garment. The average silver ring would produce enough silver for 5,000 Polygiene® treatments!
Silver chloride (AgCl for the chemistry geeks) is naturally anti-microbial, preventing the causes of odour at source. These silver chloride molecules actually kill the bacteria on your Nordifakt products outright (by punching holes in their cell walls). This makes your Nordifakt products a very inhospitable place for bacteria when they're looking for a new home to start their rapidly growing bacteria family.
- Save time - with Nordifakt products you can save time on the laundry, as our products don't have to be washed as often as regular products.
- You can buy fewer items – It’s simple really: fewer textiles in the wash basket means there are more in your drawer, ready to use.
- Your textiles last longer – Less washing and fewer bacteria means the fibres in your clothes don’t break down as quickly so you can use them for years.
- It’s better for the environment – Polygiene® treated textiles can be washed less and at lower temperatures. As well as reducing your water and energy consumption.
- It saves you money on your water bill – By using Polygiene® you can Use More, Wash Less and Pay The Water Companies Less!
All products are OEKO-TEX® certified. Our technology partner; Polygiene is both OEKO-TEX® and BlueSign Approved.
We produce in Portugal, at factories we know and have visited. We stand for responsible conditions for workers and textiles.
It is recommended to wash regular towels at 60 degrees to kill the bacteria and most people tumble dry their towels afterwards. Our products only needs to be washed at 30 degrees or less, and can be washed and tumbled much less than regular textiles. With that, we estimate that you can save around 2.000kg of Co2 every year, which is the same as a flight from London to Berlin.
Your washing machine uses 44 liters of water everytime you do a load of laundry (@Bolius 2019).As an example; if you are a family of 4, with just 1 load of towels every week, you will save up to 1.800 litersof water every year. Because we don´t think you will wash your towels more than once a month (maybe less), it means you will save at least 75%of your laundry from towels.

By selling directly to consumers, we cut out the licensing and distribution fees - essentially the middle man, so we can sell you premium home product at the best price possible.
Because our products are pricey to produce, we would have to sell at a much higher price if the products where sold through 3rd party retailers as they would need a 100-125% markup.
Yes! We believe there is opportunity for so much more. Through natural growth, we will add additional design-focused, antibacterial products, that helps you combat the dreaded choirs while being kind to our planet.
As with any regular towel, our towels have to be broken in to achieve max absorbency. We recommend soaking them for a minimum of 24 hours. Some vinegar can be added to the soak for better result. You might find that you need to wash your towel, once or twice after the soak before they dry optimally.
We always recommend washing Nordifakt products at low/cold temperatures and using mild detergent. Since there is no bacteria to kill, you don't need the high temperatures to kill the bacteria in the wash.
Our recommendation for drying is to either line dry or dry at low temperatures in the tumble dryer.
Do not use bleach and wash with similar items to avoid snags.
