We were stuck with the question, how do you take sustainability to the next level? We found the answer in technology! By adding technology we are able to create products that gives us a plus version of sustainability which complies with UN's Sustainable Development goal #12 Responsible consumption and Production.
WASH LESS
If people skipped every other wash load worldwide, the annual greenhouse emissions would be reduced significantly, in fact we could save 235 million tons of CO2 and 22.5 billion cubic meters of water - that’s a lot! At Nordifakt we aim to lead a sustainability leap towards less waste through changed consumer behaviours. We pursue this path by making sure your home textiles can be used more and washed less, making them last longer and in the process, also making better use of the resources we already have.
That is a major contribution if you want to reduce the environmental footprint during a product’s life cycle.
PRODUCT LIFE
The antibacterial technology in our materials will extend the life of the product, because you can wash less. Washing is the main factor in the wear and tear of your textiles and a main reason why textiles are discarded.
In addition Nordifakt is using high quality materials, which also help alleviate the wear and tear.
Consumer use makes up 2/3 of the environmental footprint of a garment, and we believe in the importance of changing that. With the Nordifakt products you will save water, energy, reduce CO2 and microplastics, and your home textiles will last longer. In short, the way we care for our home textiles will make a difference.

LINEN
We also use linen. Linen is made from the stalks of flax plants, which are resilient species that can grow in poor soils requiring very little if any fertilizer. The linen production process has been found to be significantly less water intensive than for cotton, giving it a low water footprint. Almost all of the flax plants can be used, and with the demand for flax seeds and oils increasing in the health food industry, there is very little to no wastage of the plants. Plus, being a natural fibre it's also biodegradable.
CERTIFICATES
All our products are OEKO-TEX Certified.OEKO-TEX® ensures that our products are produced without the use of harmful chemicals and checks that it is in accordance with the European REACH standards. The Technology we use is BLUESIGN Approved, which is the textile industry’s demanding environmental certification with a life-cycle approach. It guarantees the highest degree of assurance that the products are manufactured with responsible use of resources and the lowest possible impact on people and the environment. It also has OEKO-TEX® Eco Passport approval, it’s registered under the EU Biocidal Product Directive (BPD) and approved by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
RECYCLABLE
All Nordifakt products are recyclable.
Our products are carefully made with great respect for the environment - both the textile and the technology we use is approved for recycling. That means that when you (in a long time) have finished using your Nordifakt products, it can be collected, processed and manufactured into new products.
